To use the component, just add it to a pipeline stage (it's a general component, so you should be able to add it to any stage), and configure the TracePath property. The value should be a path (including file name) where to save messages, and you can should use macros to ensure file names are unique (it does not support appending to files yet). This is the first pipeline component I create, so obviously I'm still groping all of this. A few caveats apply:
One thing I realized from writing this is that writing pipeline components is, in general, just as easy as I expected. The downside (same as with writing adapters) is that starting writing the new component takes a while because there is just so much boilerplate to write... there's definitely room for improvement here by writing a few helper base/utility classes.
